Album Info:Even though I'm a little late on this topic. I'm now posting Photograph's of before and now progress of the construction of the Blair Sub. There will be 5 phases to this project. The 1st phase is from West Blair to Kennard. Milepost CP B344.0 to Milepost CP B350.0 And since I was the one who found out about this project, then word spread like a wild fire spreading out of control all over the internet. Any-way's. Description:  New concrete ties and some old wooden ties are now being stock piled for the start of the Blair Sub Double Track. As a matter of fact. I was just informed from an Ames employee that the UP is now getting ready to start laying the Track starting at Blair westward towards Kennard. So. If anyone has any time off and you want to see this Historic event. Now is your chance. Good luck.

UP tie train
Title:  UP tie train
Description:  Track laying tie train tied down for the evening. I just got word that the CEO Jim Yong of the UPRR wants the first part of the Double Tracking from Blair to Kennard done by the end of November. This was told to me by a RR employee. In other words. UP isnt playing games. Secondly. The area between Missouri Valley and California Junction is almost done. There going to start laying down the sub-rock next month. I was also told. The Temp switch @ Blair will be replaced with a brand new concrete tie switch switch + a Movable Frog Point will be Dispatcher controlled once the Double Track is done. There is a 32 car concrete tie train now up on the hill with a UP SD70M # 5030 and an EMD GP60 on the dead track. The GP60 is facing RR east. The power is headed to Mo valley in the morning. If anyone will be out and about tomorrow. The tie train will be adding new track from just north of CR26 (Crossing CR26) tomorrow. More updates coming soon.
